[ 1484 SOUTH RUSSELL ROAD - click here to see the location in Google maps ]

A Tech Session on MG electrics:
Explaining the basics of electrical systems (amps ,volts, ohms), the use of test instruments, and how to read schematics. Covering the various versions of the MGB from early 60’s to late 70’s, since, unlike mechanical systems, there were great differences over the model years.
There is an excellent ‘text book’: “MGB Electrical Systems” author Rick Astley, publisher Velocebooks (UK. Rick is an extremely competent electrical engineer who has taken the time and trouble to identify and explain the operation of every version of MGB ever produced.

[ Tech sessions notwithstanding I would thoroughly recommend this book to anyone who wants to do any kind of work on an MGB electrical system. It’s a gold mine of absolutely accurate information on how every component works and worth every cent of the $40 US that Amazon.com is asking for it. (Moss price $70 US!) Over many years it has saved me hours of time and frustration when trying to solve the apparently inexplicable quirks of Mr Lucas and his products, and helped me redesign some the systems of my own car. e.g. the headlamps are now re-wired so that they only work when the ignition is ON (like a modern car). ]
