Tweeeet Tweet Musings

As reported before (Labels Musings) I’m enjoying my new hearing aids. I can hear the click of the car’s indicators and so remember to cancel them without Pat nagging me. Unfortunately, I can also hear all the other car noises, rattles and squeaks the car makes.
To misquote Simon and Garfunkel I miss the Sound of Silence.

from Club member Paul Waite: I just wanted to let everyone know that my brother and me both had Carlo do some paint and body repairs on our cars. This is my brother’s ‘76 Volvo that was completely repainted and required some patching. My daily driver was hit in the door and Carlo was able to quickly repair and paint that as well. We are very happy with the work, and appreciate getting the reference from Club member Mark Douglas.

The Ottawa MG Club is seeking a new Club Rep to the North American MGB Register [ NAMGBR ]. Club member Todd Steeves has stepped down from this portfolio after several years on the job. The main focus of this Representative position is to maintain a communication channel between NAMGBR and the OMGC. As the OMGC is a Chapter of NAMGBR, there are activities and bits of news of importance to both groups. The OMGC Rep to NAMGBR communicates these types of things to NAMGBR, and receives similar types of things from NAMGBR, to share with OMGC Executives and Members.

Here are some bits of information about the activities of the Club Representative to NAMGBR:
NAMGBR Representative: acts as the OMGC Representative to the North American MGB Register
* Communicates with the organization managers as necessary and provides info about the OMGC to the
organization managers as required. This includes sending OMGC newsletters to the NAMGBR Chapter Co-ordinators.
* Conducts re-affiliation with the organization periodically. Once per year, the OMGC NAMGBR Rep confirms the number of OMGC folks that are also members of the NAMGBR organization, and files are updated where changes are necessary.
* Distributes information from the organization to Club executives and Members. This includes news about NAMGBR Board Meetings and Annual General Meetings, and NAMGBR offers.

I have spoken to our MGB Register member, Nick Phillips, who is fine with you publishing his tech articles, he would be happy to know that other MGB owners would get some value from them..
Rather than going through me , he will contact you directly,
His tech article article in the January February issue of MG Motoring, to be mailed out within the next few days, is a comprehensive review of SU carburettors, which I understand will be followed by "Tuning the SU " in our March edition
He is very flattered to hear that his tech articles have reached the other side (almost) of the world.
Nick is a very technical and practical MG owner and driver, he took his MGB to the UK some years ago and raced the car both across the UK and in Europe.

OMGC membership renewals for the 2024 season are due.
There are 2 ways you can pay your membership electronically - PayPal and Interac e-Transfer.
The best way to renew your membership is by PayPal. Go to the Ottawa MG Club web site and login to renew your membership via PayPal. Alternately, send an email to status@omgc.info and you'll receive an automated reply containing a link to pay via PayPal.
For Interac e-Transfer, just direct your banking software to send the fee amount to payments@omgc.info where it will be auto-deposited. Those not able to use electronic forms of payments may request an alternate method by sending a note to treasurer@omgc.info
