Some Information About Motor Oil With ZDDP Lead Additive
[ including feedback from club member Don Barr ]

Originally marketed under the name “Brad Penn” with ZDDP Lead Additive. The oil has changed since I started buying it — Now listed as PennGrade 1 High Performance Oil — Partial Synthetic SAE 20W-50 (Contains High Levels of Zinc and Phosphorus) — I use it in my early 5-Main engine and 3-synchro gear box. It is locally available at W.O. Stinston & Son Ltd main office on Bank St., Ottawa. Looking at their web site, it seems to also be sold by: West Carleton Automotive, Stittsville; Randy’s Performance, Kemptville; Ogilvie Auto & Fleet, Jasper; D&D Performance, Chesterville/
It was originally marketed for High Performance and Antique/Muscle Cars.

PennGrade 1 OIL
Designed for classic, historic, vintage, hot rod, muscle car and racing engines

The PennGrade refinery in Bradford, Pa., (formerly known as Brad Penn) the oldest continuously operating lube oil refinery in the United States, still refines 100% Pennsylvania grade crude, one of the best sources of high quality lubricant base stocks in the world.

PennGrade 1 is cut from Pennsylvania grade crude oil from the Bradford Oil Field in Bradford, Pennsylvania, where it was first extracted in 1859. The oil has a unique green color and clings like no other oil to your highly stressed engine parts. Its enhanced levels of zinc and phosphorous (ZDDP) protect vital engine components, and it has been the first choice of engine builders and equipment manufacturers for decades.
