Ottawa MG Club Picnic Day is scheduled for SUNDAY, July 23rd from 11:30 to 3:30

Brian Swan and Sheila Silver have again kindly offered to host our Club’s combined meeting and Summer Picnic event at their home on the Gatineau River: The Swan’s Nest, 280 Wakefield Heights, Wakefield, QC, from 11:30am to 3:30pm

The club will provide BBQ chicken, prepared and cooked by the chef of The Village House Restaurant, Wakefield, and we will be treated to a sampling of German desserts prepared by a real German cook.

Club members are asked to contribute rolls, dips, appetizers, salads, pickles and other side dishes, and desserts.

Gluten and dairy free options are welcome. Soft drinks and local spring water will also be provided – bring your own drinks if you prefer something else. Would those with food allergies liaise with Brian and Sheila so that any necessary accommodations in the preparation and cooking of the chicken can be made.

Please let Brian and Sheila know by end of day, Wednesday, July 19, that you (and your navigator) will be coming, and what you plan to bring.

Please also tell your navigator about this event as I suspect they will be the ones preparing the food to bring!!

Don’t forget your lawn chairs, sunscreen and bug spray. Not sure what the water temperature will be, but bring your swim gear if you fancy a dip. There will be pontoon-boat tours on the Gatineau River, games such as Washers, Ladder-Ball and Horseshoes, and pleasant conversation.

Come prepared to stay around to visit, relax and enjoy nature. In other words, prepare yourselves for a lovely drive and an entertaining afternoon in La Belle Province. Oh.... let’s not forget that short meeting.

Brian and Sheila are looking forward to seeing everyone at our great Summer Picnic get-together.
